Darkness Warmth Press is an independent publishing imprint for dark fiction, poetry, folklore, speculative worlds, and strange literary work — stories written at the edge of the light, with warmth at their core. The press exists as a home for work that crosses shadowed ground: old myths, haunted landscapes, ruined futures, grief, memory, dread, beauty, survival, and the stubborn human need to make meaning in the dark.
We are drawn to writing that lingers in thresholds: between past and future, horror and hope, the ordinary and the uncanny. Our work is rooted in atmosphere, emotion, place, and the strange power of stories to carry both wound and wonder.
Darkness Warmth Press is not built around darkness for darkness’ sake. It is built around what survives inside it. The last candle in the window. The voice in the fog. The hand reaching back. The old tale retold because someone still needs to hear it. At its heart, the press is a place for stories that understand fear, but refuse emptiness; stories that walk through ruin and still search for meaning, beauty, and human warmth.
A House for Different Doors
Darkness Warmth Press brings together a small family of distinct author names, each representing a different creative path within the same wider house. Harlow Black for folklore, horror, and haunted landscapes; T. C. Beardmore for speculative and industrial worlds; and Phen Weston for poetry and more personal literary work.
Each name helps readers know what kind of writing they are stepping into, while still belonging to the same independent press and the same creative vision. Darkness Warmth Press is the roof over them all: a home for shadowed stories, strange worlds, and work that carries warmth through the dark.
For now, the press begins close to home. But the long-term hope is to build something wider: a creative family of writers, voices, and stories gathered under one roof.

At our core is a belief in gratitude, kindness, and the simple, radical act of paying warmth forward. Stories matter because people matter. Art matters because it can reach across loneliness, across silence, across the dark places we do not always know how to name.
We hope to grow slowly, carefully, and honestly — not by chasing noise, but by building something with meaning. Darkness Warmth Press is committed to storytelling with emotional weight, human centre, and room for both the haunted and the hopeful.
We are here for work that understands darkness, but does not worship it. Work that remembers the candle as much as the night.

A Neurodivergent-Led Press
Darkness Warmth Press is a neurodivergent-led independent press. That shapes how we work, how we tell stories, and how we understand the world. We are drawn to the strange, the overlooked, the haunted, the intense, the difficult, and the deeply human.
We do not see neurodivergence as a weakness to be hidden, or a slogan to be used. It is part of the rhythm of the press itself: the obsession with story, the sensitivity to injustice, the need to make meaning from darkness, and the stubborn belief that different minds tell necessary stories.
Darkness Warmth Press also stands with the LGBTQ+ community. We believe storytelling should make room for outsiders, survivors, queer voices, neurodivergent voices, working-class voices, damaged voices, and anyone who has ever been made to feel they do not belong.
